Welcome to CGA
Welcometo the Canadian Guidance Association (CGA)! Originally established as the Calgary Guidance Group in late 2021, we have grown into a registered non-profit organization dedicated to providing guidance, support, and advocacy for Calgarians. At CGA, we are committed to promoting diversity, inclusivity, and overall well-being, while giving back to our vibrant community.
We proudly serve individuals from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, offering a range of programs and initiatives to uplift and empower our community.
Our Programs and Initiatives
1. Arts and Culture Awareness
We create opportunities for youth and low-income individuals to explore diverse arts and cultures through educational tours, art therapy programs, and entertainment events.
2. Community Engagement for Wellbeing
Our summer get-togethers and other social events foster meaningful connections, helping newcomers feel welcome and supported in Calgary.
3. Engaging Activities for Kids and Vulnerable Populations
We host Movie Days, Summer Camps, and creative arts and cultural activities to engage children and vulnerable groups in meaningful ways.
4. Community Safety Education
Our workshops raise awareness about community safety and aim to create a secure, inclusive environment for everyone.
5. Free Physical Activities (Sports Activities)
For Ladies: Free cricket, badminton, and fitness sessions.
For Kids: Soccer and other sports promoting active, healthy lifestyles.
6. Career Guidance Events, Training Programs, and Resume Workshops
We offer career guidance events, resume-writing workshops, and share job postings obtained from publicly available or trusted sources. Our team provides general, practical guidance intended to support participants in enhancing their job-search readiness, including interview preparation, and delivers training programs designed to assist individuals in developing personalized pathways toward achieving their goals.
While we aim to provide information and guidance related to the Canadian job market, we are not a hiring, recruitment, or placement agency and do not guarantee interviews, job offers, or employment outcomes.
7. Annual Mother’s Day Celebration
An inclusive event celebrating all mothers—including single mothers and those raising children with special needs. This family-focused event honors their contributions and creates lasting memories.
8. Empowering Vulnerable Populations
We provide resources, support, and opportunities to help youth, newcomers, and low-income individuals grow, learn, and thrive within the community.
9. Supporting and Empowering Racialized Communities
As a grassroots non-profit, we offer confidential, culturally sensitive conversations, interventions, and tailored support to racialized community members. Through our lived experiences of recovery, growth, and resilience, we inspire others, provide mentorship, advocate for their needs, and help them integrate into the community.
Join Us
